I have read several books on this subject that suggest that going over your partners history, recycle bins, deleted emails, etc. will tell you what your partner is doing on the computer and who they may be communicating with. In my opinion, this simply does not work. Most people today are computer savvy enough to know how to get rid of the evidence on their computer. It is very easy to do and only takes seconds. Unless your partner just gets sloppy this usually won’t help.
There are many different brands of computer monitoring software on the market. Trust me, they are not all created equal.
